She will also be joined by special guest\, violinist Min Jeong Koh\, for the Prokofiev Duo for Two Violins\, op. 56. \nA violinist of impeccably tailored artistry\, Mayumi Seiler is renowned for her exciting performances of concerto\, recital\, and collaborative works both live and on disc. She has graced stages from New York’s Carnegie Hall to Toronto’s Roy Thompson Hall\, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw\, Vienna’s Musikverein and in London at Wigmore Hall and the Royal Albert Hall for The Proms. \nPianist Jeanie Chung has given solo recitals\, concerto performances\, and chamber music concerts throughout North America\, Central America\, Europe\, Asia\, and Africa\, and has collaborated with renowned artists like Barry Shiffman\, Andrés Diaz\, Rachel Mercer\, Susan Hoeppner\, and Ian Clarke\, among others. DESCRIPTION:Ravel\, Beethoven\, Hintersteininger\nMayumi Seiler: violin\, Min-Jeong Koh: violin\, Hezekiah Leung: viola\, Rachel Mercer: cello\nThe inaugural concert of the Alliance String Quartet is composed of Canada’s best and established string players. \nMembers of the quartet are either soloists\, past quartet competition winners\, experienced chamber music perform- ers\, or some of whom now hold principal positions in Canada’s best orchestras\, the Toronto Symphony and the NAC Orchestra in Ottawa. \nThe Alliance quartet will be performing the gems of string quartet repertoire\, Ravel’s quartet\, Beethoven’s energetic op.18 no.6\, along with Canadian composer Hintersteininger’s beautiful work named “The Growing Season” for string quartet.
